Juicing is a powerful way to maintain liver detoxification without compromising the body’s natural healing process. Here is one of our favourite juice recipes that’s great for liver cleansing, anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation.
The Importance of Liver Cleansing
Your liver might just be the most underappreciated organ in your body.
It is your body’s largest internal organ and one of its important functions is to help remove toxins and harmful substances. Your liver functions in your body in a similar way a filter would. Just as a filter catches the dirt and solid particles, the liver detoxifies our bodies from harmful chemicals and toxins found in food and in our environment. Besides its primary role in protecting your body from harmful substances, your liver plays other key roles, too.
3 Primary Key Roles that Protect Your Body
1. Your liver is…Your power source.
The liver helps digest your food and turns it into energy. By converting proteins, carbohydrates, fat, and vitamins into energy, the liver ensures that your body has what it needs to keep going.
2. Your liver is…Your engine.
It drives many of your body’s critical systems and when it breaks down, your body will too.
3. Your liver is…Your hormone regulator.
One of the most important functions of the liver is to break down and remove excess hormones from your body. One hormone, in particular, is estrogen.
Just because it sits quietly in your body most of the time doesn’t mean it can thrive without special care. Maybe 20 or 30 years ago, a healthy person’s liver did just fine without any extra support, but today we live in a different world.
It’s important that we pay close attention to how we feel and how our body performs on a day to day basis and if needed, give our liver some extra help and support.
13 Signs and Symptoms Your Liver Is Not Functioning Optimally

Fortunately, you can help improve your liver’s functioning. If you feel that your liver could use a boost, start by cleaning up your diet. Dedicated to your health & wellbeing,
Is there a juicer you recommend? Is it not beneficial to ingest the pulp as well not just the juice? I love the juices that use the high speed blender and have been enjoying the immunity booster every morning
Hi Claire, we have had many juicers over the years and there are pros and cons to all.The two main diferences to consider are Mascination jucer VS Centrifugal juicer
We preffer Masticating Juicers – also known as the slow juicers.Pros: They produce more juice and less waste (drier pulp). You can juice tender greens like spinach, herbs, and wheatgrass. Also there is less oxidation than centrifugal juices so it will last longer.
Cons:There’s a smaller chute so they require more prep work. They’re more expensive than centrifugal. They are slower and can be hard to clean. Usually larger so they take up more counter space
We are currently using Omega J8004 and love it!
This juicer is ideal for the person who’s looking to maximize the nutrients of their juices and are willing to spend a little more time doing it.
Juicing VS Blending
The short answer is, I love both.
I look at it this way: we all need plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit in our diet, whether we eat, juice, or blend them. They are nutrient dense powerhouses, and however we choose to take them in – it’s all good!.
When you juice you are removing the insoluble fiber – the pulp. Don’t get me wrong. Fiber is good for you. It keeps your digestive tract healthy and it slows down the absorption of sugar. But it also slows down the absorption of nutrients and some nutrients stay in the fiber. When you juice, you are extracting up to 70% of the nutrition right into your glass, and without the insoluble fiber your body absorbs 100% of these nutrients. Fast nourishment!
Take a look at the ingredients in our Liver cleansing juices, and imagine eating that as a huge bowl of salad at every meal – you’d be chewing all day! Even in smoothie, that’s a lot of produce to consume.
Hope this helps ❤️
Tried the liver cleansing juice, do I need to stay close to the toilet??lol
haha – hopefully you were okay! It shouldn’t be too intense.
Good morning
this is great information. I wanted to know if I can freeze this or do I have to drink it as soon as I prepare it?
Hi Celeste,
Great question – juice is always best to drink it fresh. However, if you cannot drink it right away then we do recommend freezing it rather than storing it in your refrigerator. This will help keep keep more of the nutrients locked in as opposed to refrigerating it.
Quick tip – just be sure to leave about 1″ or so at top of the glass bottle you plan to freeze otherwise it may crack the glass.
Hope that helps!
How many ounces does this make approximately in 1 serving?
Hi Tiffany, Roughly guessing it would make about 10oz of fresh juice.
Hi, I have been experiencing severe headache, pains in my upper right abdomen , pains in my legs and sour but bitter taste in my mouth.i s it bcos my liver is getting worse? What should I do to correct it. I hv been living with hepatitis b for almost 11 years now. Thanks
Thanks for getting in touch! Please know that we are not doctors, so I strongly suggest that you seek the advice of trusted health care provider. It sounds like your body is in a chronic state of acidosis and in need of detoxification. The liver is an amzing organ – it’s your natural build-in filter that helps the body clear out toxins. It’s so vital to our health and wellbeing that it’s the only organ in the human body that can regenerate itself. A great resource to learn more about how to support this regenerative process of your liver is The Amazing Liver & Gallbladder Flush by Andreas Moritz. Hope this helps. Feel better soon!
Hi, I dont have a juicer and was wondering why you say the pulp is discarded when using a blender. Is it beneficial?
Ive been using my blender, freezing leftover and when a bit defrosted make a delicious sorbert for desert or a late night snack.
Love your recipies and look forward to trying them 🙂
Glad you are enjoying our recipes and the blended juices. Great question about the pulp – if you are straining the juice than you can definitely save the pulp and use it for crackers, sorbet, and so on… We recommend to strain it, because 1) if you don’t it’s basically a smoothie (which is fine!). But 2) by separating the liquid and the pulp you can digest the nutrients of the juice much faster and easier. The pulp provides fibre therefore the nutrients would not be as readily available to you (still beneficial with the pulp, though).
Can you add caynee pepper and turmic in this
For sure!! Adding cayenne into any juice is great at helping clear the body of mucus, and also the turmeric is great support for relieving inflammation. Would love to know how it tastes 😉
How often should you drink this juice?
We drink fresh juice daily – variety is key. Incorporating different juices helps ensure you are getting a variety of vitamins + minerals. As for the Liver Cleansing Juice specifically, we would recommend every 3-5 days – just check in with your body and see how you feel. When beet juice is taken alone, in greater quantities than an average wine glass, may cause a cleansing reaction. This may make some individuals a little dizzy or nauseated.
