For most people, spring and fall are enjoyable times of the year. But for those who suffer from seasonal allergies, it can be far from joyful. Sneezing, congestion, coughing, running nose, and itchy eyes can take a toll on the body, mind and soul.

Often the first line of defence against seasonal allergies is anti-histamines. However, while effective, this medicine isn’t a long-lasting solution, especially if you seek a natural cure. Instead, a healthy plant-based diet and the inclusion of fresh juices  and superfoods can largely improve the symptoms of allergies for many people.

Allergy Relief Juice

This blend is quite tasty, and the ingredients are a powerful combo to help alleviate inflammation, asthma, and airborne allergies. The mineral salts from cucumber and celery neutralize acids, purify the blood, cleanse the skin, detoxify tissues and organs, assist with the elimination of heavy metals, flush out the kidneys, and positively impact the bacteria in your gut. The rest of the ingredients support the immune system and manage the inflammatory allergic response.

Let’s talk about the different components of this recipe and what they offer.

Cucumber
Fresh cucumber juice is a powerful rejuvenation tonic. The electrolyte content helps nourish and cool down overused adrenal glands and kidneys that are working extra hard to filter out toxic substances during an allergy season.

Celery
Celery juice is rich in mineral salts that have a positive impact on the chemistry inside the intestinal tract, which helps kill off H. pylori (bacteria that infects your stomach), reduce inflammation and completely change your digestion for the better, all of which helps heal allergies.

Oranges
The essential oils found in citrus fruits have an antihistamine effect that can help relax nasal passages. Additionally, vitamin C has been shown to act as a natural antihistamine by directly inhibiting the inflammatory cells that release histamine. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant, which means it counteracts the inflammatory allergic response.

Ginger
Ginger is an anti-inflammatory herb that not only helps lower the risk of infections, it also helps break down toxins buildup in the organs. Ginger root is also known to cleanse the lymphatic system, which is our body’s sewage system.

If your allergies are causing an overproduction of phlegm, ginger will help break it up, easing your congestion while giving your immune system a boost.

Spirulina
With four times the antioxidants of blueberries and containing more protein gram for gram than beef, poultry, fish and soybeans, Spirulina is absolutely jam-packed with good stuff. All of these amazing nutrients make Spirulina super effective when it comes to battling allergies. Thanks to its immune-boosting benefits, Spirulina helps boost the body’s immune fighters, helping to defend against seasonal allergies before they strike.
