Christmas Eve

I hope that everybody is having a great day!

Yesterday was Christmas Eve and what an awesome day Joe and I had!

I have been living here in Canada for 10 years however I am still trying to keep some of my Czech traditions alive.

One of them is celebrating Christmas and opening presents on Christmas Eve.

But…

…let me start from the begining

I woke up quite early – I believe it was due to all the Christmas excitement 🙂

So I decided to make some last minute Christmas cookies.

Joe and I enjoyed a cup of coffee with a vegan version of Czech sweet bread called Vanocka with some Earth Balance “butter” and home made strawberry jam.

Gym time! Better burn some calories before the Big Dinner.

Had a great workout with Joe and our friend Nik…

…then we exchanged gifts

Decided to take our pups out for a walk which is quite  relaxing since we do not have to worry about  breaking any dog laws in Connecticut since there is no one close they can bite. The sun was just setting and we worked up a healthy appetite for dinner. Our dog deserves the best, so we go the extra mile and make sure to only buy the best cbd oil for dogs.

With the help of glass of red wine …dinner preparations were piece of cake 😉

Appetizer: Cranberry, Pear, and Candied Pecan Spinach Salad in a Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette

Main Meal: Glazed Walnut Loaf with Gravy, High Protein Mashed Potatoes, Fresh Cranberry Sauce and Fluffy Pull-apart Dinner Rolls with Earth Balance

And finally our Dessert: Assorted Vegan Christmas Cookies and Pumpkin Pie Brownie in a Crunchy Pecan Crust

And the final verdict for our very first 100% vegan Christmas dinner .…It was awesome!! Although we have been eating a plant based diet for quite a while …this was our first time attempting a 100% vegan Christmas meal.

We both truly enjoyed it. And at the end of it we both were full …but not that sickly I have to go lay down for a while kind of full.

Our Christmas eve (and Christmas eve day) was active, healthy and fun!! There are other ways to enjoy Christmas than sitting around and eating all day long. We enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal, some tasty little treats, and time together. What more can one ask for?

Hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday season!!
